## Biography

Carlos Rivas (born Oscar Weber, also credited as Oscar von Weber and Karl Weber) was an American actor. He was born on 16 February 1925 in El Paso, Texas, and died on 16 June 2003 in Los Angeles, California.

Rivas began his career in Mexican and Argentinian Westerns. His American film debut was as Lun Tha in *The King and I* (1956), opposite Rita Moreno. He later appeared in *True Grit* (1969) as Dirty Bob, *Topaz* (1969) as Hernández, and *The Unforgiven* (1960) as Lost Bird, as well as numerous television roles.

In 1970 he was a co-founder of the Nosotros Foundation, an organisation advocating for improved representation of Latinos in entertainment. He was married to Sylvia.
