## Biography

Catherine Dyer is an American actress. She graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and began working in commercials, voice-overs, television, theatre and film. In 1991 she moved to Los Angeles, where she wrote and performed the one-woman show *Sorry to Keep You Waiting*.

Following the 1994 Northridge earthquake, Dyer worked behind the camera as a development assistant for Lifetime Television's original movies department. In 1997 she returned to New York as programming coordinator for A&E's *Biography* series, later becoming manager of documentary programming and supervising producer; she received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2003. She resumed acting in 2008 with a recurring role in *Army Wives* and has since appeared in numerous television series and films.

Dyer is known for her role as Agent Connie Frazier in the first season of *Stranger Things* (2016) and for playing Mrs. Smith in *The Blind Side* (2009). Other film credits include *Halloween II* (2009), *Taken 3* (2014), *The Founder* (2016) and *Dirty Grandpa* (2016). She is co-founder and owner of the Atlanta acting studio Drama Inc.
