## Biography

Catherine Leterrier is a French costume designer. Born Catherine Fabius on 26 October 1942 in Aix-les-Bains, she trained in art history and began in fashion styling before entering film through her husband, director François Leterrier.

She has designed costumes for numerous French and international productions, including *Amour* (2012) directed by Michael Haneke, *Coco Before Chanel* (2009), *The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc* (1999), *A Good Year* (2006) and *The Visitors* (1993). Leterrier received three César Awards, for costume design on *The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc* and *Coco Before Chanel*, and for production design on *Bon Voyage* (2003). She was also nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for *Coco Before Chanel*.

Leterrier was married to François Leterrier until his death in 2020; they have one son, director Louis Leterrier. She is the sister of politician Laurent Fabius.
