## Biography

Cathy Belben is an American television writer. A native of Bellingham, Washington, she graduated from Bellingham High School in 1986 and earned a bachelor's degree in English from Washington State University. She obtained a degree in educational administration from Western Washington University in 1991 and worked as a high school teacher of English, Spanish, journalism and psychology, later serving as a librarian in Burlington, Washington, from 1999 to 2005.

In 2005 Belben relocated to Hollywood and joined the writing staff of the UPN series *Veronica Mars*, created by Rob Thomas. She received writing credits on three episodes of the second season, which aired in 2005 and 2006. She has also published short fiction and non-fiction in magazines and journals including *Cicada*, *Bookmarks Magazine* and *School Library Journal*.
