## Biography

Cec Linder was a Polish-born Canadian actor. Born Cecil Yekuthial Linder on 10 March 1921 in Radziechowy, Galicia, Poland, he was raised in Timmins, Ontario, and trained at the Lorne Greene Academy of Radio Arts. He began his career as a radio announcer before moving into acting.

In the 1950s and 1960s he worked extensively in the United Kingdom, often playing North American characters. He is best remembered on television for the role of Dr Matthew Roney in the BBC serial *Quatermass and the Pit* (1958–59). His film credits include *Lolita* (1962), in which he played a physician, and *Goldfinger* (1964), in which he played Felix Leiter.

Linder accumulated more than 225 film and television credits between 1955 and 1992. He died on 10 April 1992 in Toronto, Ontario.
