## Biography

Channing Gibson is an American screenwriter and television producer. He began his career writing episodes for series including *Family* (1978–79) and *Eight Is Enough* (1980), before joining the writing staff of the medical drama *St. Elsewhere* (1984–88), where he also served as a producer.

Gibson co-created the series *The Byrds of Paradise* (1994) and *Murder One* (1995–97). He worked as co-executive producer and writer on the second season of *NYPD Blue* (1994–95), for which the production team received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. He later wrote the screenplays for the feature films *Lethal Weapon 4* (1998), *Cradle 2 the Grave* (2003) and *Walking Tall* (2004). He graduated from Yale University.
