## Biography

Channing Wilroy is an American actor born on 8 November 1940. He first appeared on screen as Channing, the manservant, in John Waters’s *Pink Flamingos* (1972). He went on to take roles in five further Waters films: the prosecutor in *Female Trouble* (1974), Lieutenant Wilson in *Desperate Living* (1977), the wise-guy neighbour in *Pecker* (1998), the shop steward in *Cecil B. Demented* (2000) and a motorist in *A Dirty Shame* (2004).

Before his film work, Wilroy was a regular performer on the Baltimore television dance show *The Buddy Deane Show* in the late 1950s. He later served as music consultant on Waters’s *Cry-Baby* (1990). He lives in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where he runs an inn.
