## Biography

Charles B. Fitzsimons (8 May 1924 – 14 February 2001) was an Irish actor, attorney and film and television producer who emigrated to the United States. He trained as a lawyer at the National University of Ireland and King's Inns, and had acting experience with Dublin's Abbey Theatre.

Fitzsimons was originally hired in a legal capacity for the Irish location shooting of John Ford's *The Quiet Man* (1952) and was cast as Hugh Forbes, making his film debut alongside his elder sister, Maureen O'Hara. He later produced *The Deadly Companions* (1961) and served as associate producer on *Batman* (1966). He held the post of executive director of the Producers Guild of America from 1981 to 1999.
