## Biography

Charles Kipps is an American writer and producer for film and television. He wrote the teleplay for the Columbo 25th-anniversary special A Trace of Murder (1997) and contributed story and teleplay to the Law & Order television movie Exiled (1998). His other screen credits include the feature film Fat Albert (2004) and episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2007).

Kipps has received an Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, a Humanitas Prize and a Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award. He is the author of the Conor Bard mystery novels, beginning with Hell's Kitchen Homicide (2009), and the nonfiction book Cop Without a Badge (1996). Earlier in his career he wrote songs and was a partner in McCoy/Kipps Productions.
