Charles Nelson was a film editor. Born on 15 April 1901 in Grängesberg, Sweden, he worked primarily in Hollywood and was under contract at Columbia Pictures from 1942 to 1967.

He edited numerous films including *Gilda* (1946), *Born Yesterday* (1950), *The Big Heat* (1953), *Picnic* (1955) and *Cat Ballou* (1965). Nelson won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for *Picnic* and received nominations for *A Song to Remember* (1945) and *Cat Ballou*.

He was a member of the American Cinema Editors and died on 19 January 1997 in Los Angeles, California.
