## Biography

Charles P. Boyle (26 July 1892 – 28 May 1968) was an American cinematographer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he received his first credit as a cinematographer in 1925 and worked on numerous films through the 1950s.

Boyle served as director of photography on *Anchors Aweigh* (1945), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography (Colour), shared with Robert H. Planck. He was second-unit director of photography on *The Adventures of Robin Hood* (1938) and contributed additional photography to *Duel in the Sun* (1946). His credits also include *Lassie Come Home* (1943), *Fun and Fancy Free* (1947), *3 Godfathers* (1948), *She Wore a Yellow Ribbon* (1949), *Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier* (1955) and *Old Yeller* (1957).

Boyle died in Los Angeles, California.
