## Biography

Charles Robert Carner is an American writer, director and producer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated with a B.A. from Columbia College Chicago in 1978. He began his career as a screenwriter in the 1980s, with credits including the screenplays for *Gymkata* (1985), *Let's Get Harry* (1986) and *Blind Fury* (1989).

From the early 1990s he directed numerous television movies, often also writing them, among them *A Killer Among Friends* (1992), *Vanishing Point* (1997), *Christmas Rush* (2002), *Red Water* (2003) and *Judas* (2004). He directed an episode of the series *Supernatural* in 2012 and the feature films *Witless Protection* (2008) and *JL Ranch* (2016). Carner received a Bronze Wrangler Award for the teleplay of *Crossfire Trail* (2001).
