## Biography

Charles Steel is a British film and television producer and managing director of Cowboy Films.

He trained in film production at the Royal College of Art in London and founded Tapson Steel Films, through which he produced his first feature, *Amy Foster* (1997, also known as *Swept from the Sea*). His credits include *The Last King of Scotland* (2006), *Marley* (2012), *How I Live Now* (2013) and *Black Sea* (2014).

On television he produced the original series of *Top Boy* (2011) and later served as executive producer on its revival. He has won a BAFTA Award and received further nominations for his work in film and television.
