## Biography

Charlie Haskell is a New Zealand director and second-unit director. He trained at film school in New Zealand in the late 1980s and began his career as an assistant director on local productions including *End of the Golden Weather* (1991) and *The Piano* (1993).

Haskell directed second-unit sequences on the American series *Hercules: The Legendary Journeys* from 1993, leading to main-unit directing work on 32 episodes across that series, *Xena: Warrior Princess* (1995), *Young Hercules* (1998) and *Jack of All Trades*. He has since directed episodes of *Power Rangers*, *The Almighty Johnsons* and *The Cult*, as well as telemovies such as *Tangiwai: A Love Story* (2011), which earned a nomination for Best Director at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival.

His second-unit credits on feature films include *30 Days of Night* (2007) and *The Warrior's Way* (2010). More recent work encompasses directing on *Ash vs Evil Dead* and New Zealand projects including *Pirates of the Airwaves* (2014).
