## Biography

Chas Bain is a British cinematographer. He began his career in 1986 as a camera trainee on Jim Henson’s *The Storyteller*, later working as a loader and focus puller on productions including *Blade II* (2002), *Alexander* (2004) and *The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy* (2005). He moved into operating and lighting roles from 2005, serving as camera operator on films such as *Children of Men* (2006), *Quantum of Solace* (2008), *Snow White and the Huntsman* (2012) and *Fast & Furious 6* (2013).

Bain’s credits as director of photography include the series *The Last Kingdom* (2015–2018), on which he shot 22 episodes across the first three seasons, as well as *Eat Locals* (2017), *Save Me* (2018), *The Secret* (2016) and episodes of *A Discovery of Witches*, *Endeavour* and *Doctor Who*.
