Chick Ortega, also credited as Chico Rojo Ortega or Chick Ortéga, is a French actor born on 10 March 1961 in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle. He began his career as a musician, founding the band Dick Tracy in Nancy in 1980 before moving into acting.

Ortega first appeared on screen in Wim Wenders’ *Wings of Desire* (1987) as the drummer. He gained wider recognition for his role as the postman in Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro’s *Delicatessen* (1991). The same year he played Mimosa in *Une époque formidable…*, earning a nomination for the César Award for Best Male Newcomer.

He has since appeared in films including *Little Indian, Big City* (1994), *Dobermann* (1997) as Pitbull, and *2 Days in Paris* (2007), as well as numerous television roles such as Jacky Leroy in the series *Doc Martin*.
