## Biography

Chieko Schrader (1950–2022) was a Japanese screenwriter and producer. She is credited with the Japanese script for *Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters* (1985), on which she also served as associate producer, and wrote for *The Killing of America* (1981) and *P. P. Rider* (1983).

She was married to screenwriter Leonard Schrader from 1977 until his death in 2006 and was the sister-in-law of director Paul Schrader. Schrader collaborated with her husband and brother-in-law on the *Mishima* screenplay and worked as an on-set interpreter and translator during its production in Japan.
