Chrissy Metz is an American actress and singer. She was born on 29 September 1980 in Homestead, Florida.

Metz played Kate Pearson in the NBC series *This Is Us* (2016–2022), for which she received nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards. She also wrote one episode of the series. Her other television credits include recurring roles in *American Horror Story: Freak Show* (2014–2015) and guest appearances in *My Name Is Earl* (2005) and *Entourage* (2005).

Her film roles include *Sierra Burgess Is a Loser* (2018), *Breakthrough* (2019) and *Stay Awake* (2022).
