He portrayed Erik in the television series *The Last Kingdom* (2017). Other credits include Klare in *Fleabag* (2019), Rickard in *Young Royals* (2021–2024), Martin Lorentzon in *The Playlist* (2022) and Daniel in *The Bridge* (2011). Film roles include Jet Set Carl in *Easy Money* (2010) and Olof in *Love Wedding Repeat* (2020).

Hillborg won the Kristallen Award for Best Actor in 2023 for his performance in *The Playlist*.
