Christian McKay is an English stage and screen actor. He was born in Bury, Lancashire, and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2001. He is also a classically trained pianist who studied at the University of York and the Royal College of Music.

McKay is best known for his portrayal of Orson Welles in the 2008 film *Me and Orson Welles*, a role he originated in the one-man stage play *Rosebud: The Lives of Orson Welles*. He has appeared in *Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy* (2011), *Rush* (2013) as Lord Hesketh, *The Theory of Everything* (2014) as Roger Penrose, *Florence Foster Jenkins* (2016) as Earl Wilson, and *Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris* (2022). He received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor for *Me and Orson Welles*.
