## Biography

Christine Olsen is an Australian screenwriter and producer. She wrote the screenplay for and co-produced the 2002 feature film *Rabbit-Proof Fence*, directed by Phillip Noyce and adapted from Doris Pilkington Garimara’s book *Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence*.

Originally from New Zealand, where she grew up in a small country town and was educated, Olsen worked as a radio producer in Hong Kong before moving to Australia in 1985. She has produced documentaries including the award-winning *Hephzibah* (1998) and earlier works such as *The Queen Goes West* (1988) and *Invitation to a Wedding* (1995), for which she also wrote the screenplay. Olsen received the Queensland Premier’s Literary Award for Best Film Script for *Rabbit-Proof Fence*.
