Christopher Murphy is a cinematographer and director based in Bozeman, Montana. He grew up in Great Falls, Montana, and began filming on a Hi8 camera before editing on a homemade VHS system.

His credits as director of photography include the 2026 documentary *Everest: The Other Side*, on which he worked alongside Jimmy Chin and Clair Popkin, and the 2021 National Geographic film *Torn*. He also served as producer and director of photography on *Torn*. Murphy directed and produced the 2017 snowboard feature *Depth Perception* with Travis Rice.

Earlier camera credits include Spike Jonze's *Pretty Sweet* (2012), *Waiting for Lightning* and series work for the BBC. He has also directed branded films and campaigns for clients including Arc'teryx, Oakley and YETI.
