Christopher Newman is a producer and second unit director. Born on 25 April 1955 in Tripoli, Lebanon, he began his career as an assistant director on feature films including *Return of the Jedi* (1983), *Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace* (1999), *Notting Hill* (1999), *Sleepy Hollow* (1999), *Love Actually* (2003), *Match Point* (2005) and *Mamma Mia!* (2008).

He later moved into producing, serving as line producer, co-producer and producer on *Game of Thrones* (2011–2019), for which he received four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series. He also directed second unit on the series and has produced on *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power* (2022). Newman is credited as Chris Newman on many projects.
