Owen appeared in the BBC series *House of Cards* (1990) as Peter McKenzie and its sequel *To Play the King* (1993) in the same role. His other television credits include *Agatha Christie's Poirot* (1991) as Chief Purser, *The Day of the Triffids* (1981) as the Vicar, and *Sharpe's Honour* (1994) as Rev. Whistler. Film roles include Mountbatten in *The Bank Job* (2008), Father Mannion in *Basil* (1998) and Lord Justice Scott Baker in *Unlawful Killing* (2011). He retired from acting in 2014.
