## Biography

Christopher Russell is a British television and radio scriptwriter. He began writing radio plays in the mid-1970s and became a full-time scriptwriter in 1980. His television credits include episodes of *Midsomer Murders* (2000–2002), *Bergerac* (1991), *A Touch of Frost* (1994–1996), *The Bill* (1985–1994), *EastEnders* (1985) and *Cadfael* (1996–1998).

Russell has also written for children's television series such as *Look and Read* (1983–1988). He has authored several children's books, including *Brind and the Dogs of War* and *Smugglers*, and was shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize and the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize. He lives on the Isle of Wight and is married to Christine Russell.
