Cindy Appel is an American television writer and producer, also credited as Cynthia Appel. She began her career in production and script roles, working as a script coordinator on series including *The King of Queens* and *Numb3rs*, and as production staff on *According to Jim* and *Desperate Housewives*.

She has written episodes for *Desperate Housewives* (2012), *The Odd Couple* (2015), *Young & Hungry*, *Heartbeat*, *Superior Donuts* (where she also served as executive story editor), *MacGyver* (2020–2021) and *Star Trek: Picard* (2022–2023). She has also held producing roles including co-producer on *MacGyver* and supervising producer on *Star Trek: Picard*. In 2026 she wrote an episode of the series *VisionQuest*.
