Clare Holman is an English actress born on 12 January 1964 in London. She is best known for portraying forensic pathologist Dr Laura Hobson in the crime drama series *Inspector Morse* from 1995 to 2000 and its spin-off *Lewis* from 2006 to 2015.

Holman began her career in the 1988 television film *The Rainbow*. Her other television credits include multiple roles in *Midsomer Murders*, appearances in *The Little Drummer Girl* (2018) as Miss Bach, *Cursed* (2020) and *Sherwood*. Film roles include *Let Him Have It* (1991), *Blood Diamond* (2006), *Suite Française* (2015) and *Censor* (2021).

In theatre, she received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?* in 1997. She has performed with the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and teaches drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
