## Biography

Claude Nollier was a French actress born Yvette Emilie Maria Louise Nollier on 12 December 1919 in Paris. She died on 12 February 2009 in Boulogne-Billancourt. Primarily a theatre performer, she was a member of the Comédie-Française from 1946 to 1951.

She began appearing in films in the 1940s and worked with directors including André Cayatte, John Huston, Sacha Guitry and Julien Duvivier. Her film roles include the Countess Adèle de Toulouse-Lautrec in *Moulin Rouge* (1952).

Nollier was particularly noted for her performances as Joan of Arc in *Jeanne au bûcher* by Paul Claudel and Arthur Honegger at the Opéra de Paris.
