## Biography

Claudine Bouché (27 September 1925 – 7 April 2014) was a French film editor. She began her career editing the 1951 comedy *Mr. Peek-a-Boo* and went on to work on approximately forty films.

Bouché edited six films directed by François Truffaut, including *Shoot the Piano Player* (1960), *Jules and Jim* (1962), *Antoine and Colette* (1962), *The Soft Skin* (1964) and *The Bride Wore Black* (1968). She also edited *Emmanuelle* (1974) and, later in her career, François Ozon’s *Criminal Lovers* (1999) and *Water Drops on Burning Rocks* (2000). In 1977, *Film Comment* ranked her among the seventy-five leading film editors.
