## Biography

Clyde Fillmore, also credited as Clyde Fogle, was an American actor of stage and screen. He appeared in silent films from the late 1910s, including a role in the now-lost *The Devil's Pass Key* (1920) directed by Erich von Stroheim, before pursuing a busy career on Broadway in the 1930s playing men of means or influence.

In the sound era he returned to film as a character actor, often in small or uncredited parts. His credits include *The Shanghai Gesture* (1941), *The Talk of the Town* (1942), *Watch on the Rhine* (1943), *The More the Merrier* (1943) as Senator Noonan, *Laura* (1944) and *Lady on a Train* (1945). He was married to actress Lea Penman from 1924 until his death.
