Cobie Smulders, born Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders, is a Canadian actress. She is known for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in the television series *How I Met Your Mother* (2005–2014) and as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with the film *The Avengers* (2012).

Smulders made her Broadway debut in the 2017 revival of Noël Coward’s *Present Laughter*, for which she received a Theatre World Award. Her other film credits include *Jack Reacher: Never Go Back* (2016) and voice work in *The Lego Movie* (2014).
