## Biography

Colin Campbell (17 January 1937 – 1 March 2018) was an English actor. He began his career as a child performer, appearing in a BBC radio adaptation of *Worzel Gummidge* and taking the title role in the 1952 BBC television production of *Huckleberry Finn*. His stage work included seasons at the Old Vic and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Campbell's best-known film role was as Reggie in *The Leather Boys* (1964). He appeared in numerous British television series, including the main role of David Ashton in the ITV drama *A Family at War* (1970–1972). Later credits include *My Beautiful Laundrette* (1985), *Nuns on the Run* (1990) as Norm, and *I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle* (1990). He continued working into the 2000s, with his final screen appearance in *Saxon* (2007). His granddaughter is singer Shola Ama.
