## Biography

Corinne Marchand is a French actress born on 4 December 1931 in Paris. She also performed under the name Denise Marie Renée Marchand. She began her career as a singer in nightclubs, operettas and revues, and worked as a photographic model before making her film debut in Cadet Rousselle (1954).

After appearing in minor roles, including an uncredited part in Gigi (1958), she played the title character in Agnès Varda's Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962). She also appeared in Lola (1961), Borsalino (1970), Rider on the Rain (1970) and later films such as Innocence (2005) and Orchestra Class (2017). Her screen career spanned from 1954 to 2017, and she also worked in theatre and on television. In 1962 she received the Prix Suzanne Bianchetti.

She trained as a beekeeper at the Charenton School of Beekeeping and has produced honey commercially.
