## Biography

Cosmo Kyrle Bellew (23 November 1883 – 25 January 1948) was a British-American actor who worked in vaudeville and film. He claimed London as his birthplace and immigrated to the United States in 1914. He began performing in vaudeville and appeared in several stage musicals in the early 1920s before moving to Los Angeles in 1927 and signing with Sam Goldwyn.

Bellew took supporting and often uncredited roles in films from the mid-1920s onward. His credits include *Summer Bachelors* (1926), *Disraeli* (1929) as Mr. Terle, *Design for Living* (1933), and *The Merry Widow* (1934). He married Anita Blun in 1925; the couple had no children. He died at his home in Beverly Hills, California.
