Craig Chester is an American actor and screenwriter. Born on 8 November 1965 in West Covina, California, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He made his film debut in *Swoon* (1992), for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination, and appeared in other independent films including *I Shot Andy Warhol* (1996) and *Kill Your Darlings* (2013).

Chester wrote, directed and starred in *Adam & Steve* (2005). He published the memoir *Why the Long Face?: The Adventures of a Truly Independent Actor* in 2003. His television writing credits include episodes of *The Big Gay Sketch Show* (2007–2010), *True Blood* (2014) and *Insatiable* (2018).
