## Biography

Craig Pruess is an American composer, musician, arranger and record producer. He was born on 18 December 1950 in White Plains, New York, and has lived in Britain since 1973.

Pruess is known for his film scores, including *Bend It Like Beckham* (2002), *Bride & Prejudice* (2004) and *The Mistress of Spices* (2005). He has worked frequently with director Gurinder Chadha and composed for the television series *Beecham House* (2017) and *Moses Jones* (2009), for which he received a BAFTA nomination. His credits also include sitar performances on films such as *Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire* (2005) and *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory* (2005).

Earlier in his career he studied physics and philosophy at MIT and lived in Kenya, where he taught at the East African Conservatoire of Music.
