## Biography

Craig Stearns is an American production designer and art director. He grew up in Vermont and began making films while at high school. After studying pre-med at the University of Vermont he transferred to the USC film programme, where he met director John Carpenter.

Stearns worked with Carpenter on early films including *Halloween* (1978), *Assault on Precinct 13* (1976) and *The Fog* (1980), initially in set decoration, property and art direction roles. He has worked primarily as a production designer since 1982. His credits include *The Mask* (1994), *Big Momma's House* (2000), *Grimm* (2011–2012) and *Halt and Catch Fire* (2014–2016). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on the latter series.
