## Biography

Cristina Gallego is a Colombian producer, writer and director. She founded the production company Ciudad Lunar Producciones in 1998 and began her career producing *Wandering Shadows* (2004), directed by Ciro Guerra. She later produced *The Wind Journeys* (2009) and *Embrace of the Serpent* (2015), both also directed by Guerra.

Gallego made her directorial debut co-directing *Birds of Passage* (2018) with Guerra. The film, which she also produced, premiered in the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and was Colombia's entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. She has produced or co-produced other films including *Sister of Mine* (2017), *Memoria* (2021) and *The Kings of the World* (2022).

Her brother is cinematographer David Gallego. She studied at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
