## Biography

D. B. Sweeney is an American actor. Born Daniel Bernard Sweeney on 14 November 1961 in Shoreham, Long Island, New York, he trained at the Circle in the Square Professional Theatre School and earned a BFA from New York University after attending Tulane University. He began his career in New York theatre, appearing on Broadway in the 1983 revival of The Caine Mutiny Court Martial.

Sweeney gained attention for his role as Jackie Willow in Francis Ford Coppola's Gardens of Stone (1987). He went on to play Shoeless Joe Jackson in Eight Men Out (1988), Dish Boggett in the miniseries Lonesome Dove (1989), and Doug Dorsey in The Cutting Edge (1992). Voice roles include Aladar in Dinosaur (2000) and Sitka in Brother Bear (2003). His television credits include recurring parts in series such as House, Criminal Minds, and Castle.
