## Biography

Dag Alveberg (1951–2010) was a Norwegian film producer. He began his career as producer on the 1985 film *Orion's Belt* and went on to produce or co-produce a number of Scandinavian features, including *The Idiots* (1998), where he is credited as producer for the Nordic Film & TV Fund, and *The Celebration* (1998) as co-producer.

Alveberg held several executive roles in Nordic broadcasting and film, including production chief at NRK Drama, head of drama at Danmarks Radio and director of the Nordic Film & TV Fund. He produced the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics and later founded the production company Maipo Film. His credits also include *Elling* (2001), *Mother's Elling* (2003) and *The Art of Negative Thinking* (2006). In 2003 he received the award for Norwegian Film Producer of the Year for *Mother's Elling*.
