He appeared in two films directed by Richard Linklater. In *It's Impossible to Learn to Plow by Reading Books* (1988) he is credited as an actor under the name Daniel Kratochvil. In *Slacker* (1990) he played the Espresso Czar / Masonic Malcontent and also worked as a production assistant, again credited as Daniel Kratochvil.
