## Biography

Dan Michaelson is a British composer and musician. Born in Northampton, he is based in London and works across film, television and recorded albums.

He co-composed the score for the BAFTA-winning BBC series *Detectorists* (2014–2022) with Johnny Flynn, contributing to all three series. Other credits include the feature documentary *Blowin’ Up* (2018) and the BFI-sponsored film *Side by Side* (co-written with Lorne Balfe).

As a recording artist he has released several albums, including the orchestral trilogy *Distance*, *Memory* and *First Light*, and the instrumental album *Colourfield* (2020).
