## Biography

Dan Weil is a French production designer. He began his career working with director Luc Besson in the 1980s on music videos and films including *The Big Blue* (1988) and *Nikita* (1990). He continued the collaboration on *Léon: The Professional* (1994) and *The Fifth Element* (1997), for which he won a César Award for Best Production Design.

Weil has designed for international productions such as *The Bourne Identity* (2002), *King Arthur* (2004), *Syriana* (2005), *Blood Diamond* (2006), *Defiance* (2008), *American Made* (2017) and *Chaos Walking* (2021). He has also worked in television on series including *The Serpent Queen* and the miniseries *Franklin*. He teaches at La Fémis, the French national film school.
