## Biography

Daniel Alpert is an American investment banker and economic commentator. He is founding managing partner of Westwood Capital LLC, a New York-based investment firm established in 1995. Prior to that he worked as a banker and partner at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., with experience in international merchant banking, restructuring and structured finance.

In 2010 Alpert appeared as himself in the documentary film *Inside Job*. He is an adjunct professor of law and senior fellow in financial macroeconomics at Cornell Law School, a fellow of The Century Foundation, and author of *The Age of Oversupply: Confronting the Greatest Challenge to the Global Economy* (2013). He co-created the United States Private Sector Job Quality Index.
