## Biography

Daniel Boyle is a Scottish screenwriter. He contributed episodes to the television series *Inspector Morse* between 1991 and 1993, and wrote twelve episodes of *Hamish Macbeth* (1995–1997), which he also devised.

Boyle left school at fifteen and worked as a seaman for eleven years, followed by four years as a postman. He attended university as a mature student and later worked as a college lecturer before becoming a full-time writer in 1990. He has also written for *Rebus*, *Taggart* and *Lewis*.
