## Biography

Daniela Ciancio is an Italian costume designer. Born in Naples on 5 March 1965, she graduated from high school in 1983 and studied stage design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, earning a diploma in scenography. In 1986 she began collaborating with the Teatro di San Carlo and the Nuovo Teatro Nuovo di Napoli. She received a diploma from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome in 1994, along with a study award from Piero Tosi.

Her career spans cinema, theatre, opera and television. She has designed costumes for Paolo Sorrentino’s *Il Divo* (2008) and *The Great Beauty* (2013), Michael Winterbottom’s *The Face of an Angel* (2014) and Antonietta De Lillo’s *Il resto di niente* (2004). She served as costume supervisor on *Mission: Impossible III* (2006). Ciancio won the David di Donatello for Best Costumes for *Il resto di niente* in 2005 and for *The Great Beauty* in 2014. She has taught costume design since 2004 and, from 2024, has directed the sartoria at the Teatro di San Carlo.
