Danny McCarthy is an American actor born on 9 February 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is best known for his role as Special Agent Danny Hale in the Fox series *Prison Break* (2005–2006).

His film credits include Stuart in *The Exorcist: Believer* (2023), Curly Joe's Brother in *The Ballad of Buster Scruggs* (2018), and supporting parts in *Transformers: Dark of the Moon* (2011), *The Drop* (2014), *Stronger* (2017) and *Good One* (2024). On television he has appeared in *Somebody Somewhere*, *Elsbeth*, *Chicago P.D.* and *Elementary*.

McCarthy has an extensive stage career as an ensemble member of A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago and has performed on Broadway in *The Minutes*, Aaron Sorkin's *To Kill a Mockingbird* and *The Iceman Cometh*.
