## Biography

Dario Amodei is an American artificial intelligence researcher and entrepreneur. He is co-founder and chief executive of Anthropic, the company behind the Claude series of large language models.

Amodei previously served as vice president of research at OpenAI, where he contributed to the development of GPT-2 and GPT-3. He holds a PhD in biophysics from Princeton University and earlier studied physics at Stanford University. He appears as himself in the 2026 documentary *The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist*.
