## Biography

Darlene Conley (1934–2007) was an American actress whose career spanned film, television and stage. She began acting at 15 in a touring production of *The Heiress* opposite Basil Rathbone and made her screen debut in an uncredited role in Alfred Hitchcock's *The Birds* (1963).

Conley appeared in John Cassavetes' *Faces* (1968) as Billy Mae, as well as *Valley of the Dolls* (1967) and *Tough Guys* (1986). On television she guest-starred in series including *Gunsmoke*, *The Mary Tyler Moore Show*, *Little House on the Prairie* and *Murder, She Wrote*. She played recurring roles in daytime soaps such as *The Young and the Restless* before portraying Sally Spectra on *The Bold and the Beautiful* from 1989 until her death. The performance earned her two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
