Darwin Joston, born Francis Darwin Solomon, was an American actor. He began his career as a stage actor in New York before appearing in numerous television series during the 1960s, early 1970s and mid-1980s, including episodes of *Lassie*, *Ironside*, *McCloud*, *Knight Rider* and *ALF*.

Joston is known for his film roles as Napoleon Wilson in *Assault on Precinct 13* (1976), Paul in *Eraserhead* (1977) and Dr. Phibes in *The Fog* (1980). He also worked in the transportation department on several films in the 1980s and 1990s. He was born on 9 December 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and died there on 1 June 1998.
